Where is Kayo Boxing located?

We’re conveniently situated at 456 Hempstead Tpke, West Hempstead, NY 11552 with FREE parking in the parking lot. Get directions by clicking here.

How much does a class cost?

A class is $30. However, there are many payment packages: Month to Month, 3 Month, 6 Month, 9 Month, 1 year and drop in Classes. For the most accurate and updated pricing details, please give us a call.

What do I receive with my registration?

Every new member receives boxing gloves, a jump rope, wraps, and a Kayo Boxing t-shirt upon signing of the registration. Trial students are lent out equipment.

Do I need to bring my own boxing gloves?

Every new member receives boxing gloves. We also lend out gloves to trial members. However, we have some students who bring their own gloves if they like.

Do I need any prior boxing experience to join?

No, you don’t! We cater to all levels of experience, from absolute beginners to advanced boxers.

What should i wear to my first class?

Comfortable athletic wear and sneakers are recommended. We provide boxing gloves to our members, but if you’re coming for a trial, it’s good to have your own or you can purchase/rent them at our gym.

How long is each class?

Each class is 45 minutes long, but we advise arriving 15 minutes early to prepare.

Are classes co-ed?

Yes, our classes are mixed, accommodating both men and women.

Do you offer classes for kids?

Absolutely! We have specialized classes for kids, teens, and adults.

Can I just walk in for a class?

While we occasionally have space for walk-ins, our classes tend to fill up quickly. We strongly recommend signing up in advance via our website or giving us a call to secure your spot.

How do I wrap my hands?
Wrapping your hands is essential for protection during boxing workouts. If you’re unfamiliar with the process, we have a helpful video on Youtube.

Should I worry that I may get hurt or injured?

Safety is our top priority at Kayo Boxing. While any physical activity carries some risk, our certified trainers ensure that proper techniques are taught and followed to minimize any potential injuries. Always communicate with our trainers about any concerns you might have.

What's the best way to prep before my workout?

It’s essential to stay hydrated and have a light meal about 1-2 hours before your workout. Ensure you wear comfortable attire, and don’t forget to arrive 15 minutes early to get acclimated and warmed up.

How can I recover after my workouts?

Post-workout recovery is crucial. Hydrate well, consume a balanced meal or protein shake, stretch, and ensure you get adequate sleep. Epsom salt baths can help alleviate muscle soreness, and over time, your body will adapt and recover more quickly.

Is sparring mandatory?

No, sparring is completely optional. Our main focus is on training and technique.

How often should I attend classes to see progress?

While it varies for each individual, attending 2-3 classes a week can help in seeing noticeable improvements. With our memberships, you’re welcomed to come as often (or as lttle) as you’d like.

Can I get a one-on-one session?

Yes, we offer personalized one-on-one boxing training sessions.

Is parking available?

Yes, we have ample free parking available in our parking lot.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

While many members choose to bring their own gloves and wraps, we also offer equipment for rent or purchase.

Are there any membership contracts?

We offer different membership options, some with contracts and some without. Please call us for detailed information.
